The Bandhavgarh & Kanha Tiger Reserves are arguably one of best locations in the world to sight and photograph tigers in their natural habitat.

Kanha is also home to the endangered hard-ground barasinga, which is a big target on our checklist.

These rich sal forests are also home to the Indian leopard, jackals, jungle cats, rusty-spotted cats, wild boar, sambar, spotted deer, grey langur, rhesus macaque and several species of birds such as several species of vultures, including the red-headed, long-billed, white-rumped and Egyptian variety, lesser adjutant storks, Malabar pied hornbill, blue-bearded bee-eater and Asian paradise flycatchers to name a few.

We will be exploring both of these amazing parks over 7 safaris in Bandhavgarh , and 5 safaris in Kanha, spread across 8 days.  This will allow us to capture the most amazing opportunities of tigers and get to know the park really well.

What’s better, The Outback Experience’s Phillip Ross, will guide you into the forests, take you through the fundamentals of wildlife photography and equip you with a good understanding of tiger behaviour that will help you take stunning photographs. Phillip has been travelling to Bandhavgarh & Kanha since 2010 and know’s these forests like the back of his hand and will lead you to places where tiger sightings are known to happen.

TOUR ITINERARY

Scheduled Tour Dates:

November 12th to 19th, 2025

DAY 1: Arrive in Bandhavgarh

On arrival at our lodge in Bandhavgarh (we will help you with arranging your travel from Jabalpur to Bandhavgarh, at extra cost at actuals), tour instructor, Phillip Ross will greet you and welcome you to our beautiful resort. After a quick introduction and settle in, we will meet for a photography session and ensure we’re all geared up for all the tiger photography ahead of us.

We end the night with a delicious dinner before hitting the sack for the night with exciting dreams of what lies ahead for the next 8 days.

DAYS 2 to 4: Explore Bandhavgarh over 6 safaris 

Over the next three days, we awake early to the sweet calls of the birds found within the resort and after a hot cup of coffee or tea, we prepare to depart on each of our morning safaris in Bandhavgarh.

We enter the park early, and enter the park with a hope to sight and photograph tigers, and all the other amazing wildlife that Bandhavgarh has on offer. Tigers are at their most active during the early hours of dawn and late hours of dusk.

Phillip will constantly strategise along with the drivers and guides, to maximise opportunities and make the most of each safari.

We head back to the lodge after the morning safari by 11:30 a.m, and after some well earned rest, we meet for lunch before heading back into the park around 02:00 p.m. Afternoons are great for bird-watching, and while we wait for tigers to start moving, we have a great time photographing some of the winged attractions of Bandhavgarh. As it starts getting cooler, it’s tiger time again and we’re off tracking and if luck prevails, we are sure to have the most amazing sighting of a Bandhavgarh Tiger!

On our return at dusk, we’ll meet for a photography session where Phillip will clear doubts, have review sessions and introduce new topics, before ending each night with a celebratory dinner.

DAY 5: Final safari in Bandhavgarh and proceed to Kanha

On the final morning at Bandhavgarh, we enter the park one last time for another escapade with it’s amazing tigers, and check out immediately after a late breakfast/brunch and begin our drive towards Kanha, where we can’t wait to continue our winter adventure. We check in at our amazing property in Kanha in time for dinner.

DAYS 6 & 7: Explore Kanha over 4 safaris 

Over the next 2 days, we explore the amazing Kanha Tiger Reserve, targeting it’s amazing big male tigers, but also the endangered barasinga in soft and dramatic winter light. Each day we do 2 safaris, while exploring the 3 prime zones of Kanha.

DAY 8: Final safari in Kanha and Checkout

On the final morning, we gather for a final safari into this amazing winter wonderland, before we have a final rendezvous over breakfast and check out soon after, before driving back to Nagpur airport, where we are sure you won’t be able to wait to tell your friends and family some fascinating tales once you reach home.

• 10% outside 76 days before the tour
• 25% between 75 and 61 days before the tour
• 50% between 60 and 46 days before the tour
• 75% between 45 and 31 days before the tour
• 100% within 30 days before the tour
