Bandhavgarh| Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
The Land Of The Tiger - Full Day Madness
Four nights and five days at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, with three full-day safaris that enter the park before the regular gates open and leave after they close, and expert guidance from wildlife photographer Phillip Ross.
The land Rama gave his brother
The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is arguably one of the best locations in the world to sight and photograph tigers in their natural habitat. The park derives its name from a prominent hillock said to have been given by Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana as a lookout post - “Bandhavgarh”, Brother’s Fort, in Sanskrit.
This “Full Day” tour is built around three safaris that enter the park 15 minutes before the regular gate time and leave 15 minutes after it, moving freely between the Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli zones. Alongside tigers, the reserve holds Indian leopards, jackals, jungle cats, wild boar, sambar and spotted deer, grey langur, rhesus macaque, and birdlife including vultures, storks, the Malabar pied hornbill and paradise flycatchers.
Wildlife photographer Phillip Ross has been leading tours here since 2010 and will guide you through the fundamentals of wildlife photography and tiger behaviour across the full day in the park.

Five days, as they run
Day1
Arrive at the lodge and be greeted by Phillip Ross. After check-in and lunch, Phillip introduces the group to Bandhavgarh with a brief on the wildlife found in the park and a presentation on ideal camera settings for the full days ahead.
We end the evening with a delicious dinner.
Day2-4
Each of the three full days follows the same rhythm: we enter the park 15 minutes ahead of the regular safari tourists and begin tracking straight away, hoping to sight and photograph tigers before the light gets hard.
A packed breakfast is taken inside the park, and we stay out through the middle of the day for birding and general wildlife photography before the light turns golden again for the evening’s tiger tracking.
We return after the gates close, and gather each evening for a photography review session and dinner.
Day5
On the final morning, we gather for breakfast before checking out and driving back to Jabalpur Airport, memory cards full.
