Bandhavgarh| Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
The Land Of The Tiger
Four nights and five days at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in the crisp winter light, with seven safaris across the Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli zones and expert guidance from wildlife photographer Phillip Ross.
The land Rama gave his brother
The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is arguably one of the best locations in the world to sight and photograph tigers in their natural habitat. The park derives its name from a prominent hillock said to have been given by Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana - “Bandhavgarh”, Brother’s Fort, in Sanskrit.
Winter brings cool, clear mornings across the reserve’s sal forests, home to Indian leopards, jackals, jungle cats, wild boar, sambar and spotted deer, grey langur and rhesus macaque, alongside vultures, storks, the Malabar pied hornbill and paradise flycatchers. This tour runs seven safaris across four days over the Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli zones, when tigers are at their most active during the early hours of dawn and late hours of dusk.
Wildlife photographer Phillip Ross has visited Bandhavgarh since 2010 and will guide you through camera settings, positioning and tiger behaviour throughout the tour.
