Coorg| Rainforest Exploration & Macro Tour
Rainforest Resplendence
Two nights and three days in Coorg’s dense forests, photographing bush frogs, pit vipers and endemic birdlife with wildlife photographer Phillip Ross.
The dense forest on steep hills
Coorg, or Kodagu - which means “dense forest on steep hills” - is the perfect location for a rainforest exploration and macro photography tour. The region hosts a wide array of exciting activities for avid naturalists, wildlife enthusiasts and macro photographers.
Notable subjects include bushfrogs, night frogs, cricket frogs, gliding and dancing frogs, and reptiles such as the Malabar and hump-nosed pit vipers, cat snakes, vine snakes, coral snakes and geckos. Over 300 bird species share the forest, including the Malabar trogon, orange minivet and Asian fairy bluebird.
We stay at a beautiful homestay on the forest’s fringe, surrounded by coffee estates and streams, with wildlife photographer Phillip Ross guiding the search.
