Corbett| Corbett Tiger Reserve
Echoes of the Ramganga
Four nights and five days at Corbett Tiger Reserve, with seven safaris across the Jhirna and Dhikala zones and expert guidance from wildlife photographer Phillip Ross.
India’s oldest national park
One of India’s most iconic wildlife landscapes, Corbett Tiger Reserve was established in 1936 and named after conservationist Jim Corbett. Its dramatic terrain of sal forest, grassland and the Ramganga valley is renowned for its Bengal tigers, elephants and healthy wildlife populations, alongside leopards, sloth bears, dholes, gharial, mahseer and otters.
The tour spends a night in Ramnagar with a safari into the Jhirna zone, then moves inside the reserve for three nights at the Dhikala Forest Rest House, widely considered among the most productive wildlife areas in the country - seven safaris in all.
Wildlife photographer Phillip Ross will guide you through camera settings and tiger and elephant behaviour throughout the tour.
What you come home with

Five days, as they run
Day1
Arrive at the lodge in Ramnagar. Phillip runs a photography preparation session covering camera settings, terrain-specific strategy and what to expect on safari, before a delicious dinner.
Day2
A morning safari into the Jhirna zone - open areas, riverbeds and dense vegetation known for tigers, leopards, sloth bears and elephants - before we transfer to the Dhikala Forest Rest House for a three-night stay inside the reserve.
Day3-4
Six safaris exploring Dhikala’s grasslands, sal forests, riverine belts and the Ramganga backwaters. Early mornings favour tiger tracking, afternoons favour birdwatching, and evenings favour landscape and predator photography.
We gather each evening for a photography review with Phillip.

Have questions about this tour?
We hope you’ll find your answers here.
Who is this tour for?
Anybody above the age of 18 with a passion to learn and master photography. There are no other eligibility criteria.
How many participants can be expected to attend?
A maximum of 3 participants are expected. The Outback Experience’s USP is to provide as much individual attention and quality time to each participant as possible and thus the group strength has been kept low. We do not cater to very large groups per batch!
Where are we staying and what sort of accommodation and food can we expect?
We stay one night at a lodge in Ramnagar on the forest edge, then three nights at the basic but comfortable Dhikala Forest Rest House inside the reserve. Only vegetarian and egg meals are available at Dhikala.
What are the requisites for the tour?
Bringing your own camera is strongly recommended. This camera should ideally be a Mirrorless or Digital SLR (DSLR) and lens with a focal length of at least 300mm to make the most out of the photography tour. In case you do not have the recommended equipment, please contact us and we will help you hire a camera or lens.
