Little Rann of Kutch| Gujarat
Flight Across the Little Rann
Three nights and four days on the salt flats and grasslands of the Little Rann of Kutch, with six jeep safaris and expert guidance from wildlife photographer Phillip Ross.
The last refuge of the Asiatic wild ass
The Little Rann of Kutch Wildlife Sanctuary spans 4,950 square kilometres of salt flats, desert grassland, scrubland, lakes and marshes across western Gujarat. It is the last refuge of the endangered Asiatic wild ass, and home to the Indian wolf, jackals, hyena, foxes, jungle cats, blackbuck, nilgai, wild boar and chinkara.
Winter migration, from December to March, brings raptors including steppe, imperial and short-toed eagles, Houbara bustards, flamingos, pelicans, storks, cranes, larks, sand grouse, coursers, plovers, chats, warblers, babblers and shrikes - the peak season brings demoiselle and common cranes and lesser flamingoes in large numbers.
We run six jeep safaris in two jeeps from Rann Riders, with wildlife photographer Phillip Ross guiding you to the sanctuary’s hotspots.
