Where the Shivaliks meet the Ganga
Rajaji Tiger Reserve spans the Shivalik foothills and the Gangetic plains, established in 1983 from three merged sanctuaries. Its sal forests, rocky hillsides, riverine corridors and sweeping valleys, carved by the Ganga, make it especially renowned for its leopards.
The tour runs five immersive safaris across steep ridges, sunlit riverbeds and thick forest, with single-occupancy homestay accommodation near the entry gates.
Phillip Ross guides you through tracking leopards, understanding their behaviour and anticipating their movement.

Four days, as they run
Day1
Arrival at the homestay, a welcome session and camera-settings briefing, followed by an orientation dinner.
Day2-3
Four safaris in total across core leopard habitat - rocky slopes, riverbeds and sal forest - in morning and afternoon combinations, with an evening photo review session.
Day4
A final morning safari, then a brunch and departure toward Delhi or Dehradun.

Cancellation Fees
- 10% outside 76 days before the tour
- 25% between 75 and 61 days before the tour
- 50% between 60 and 46 days before the tour
- 75% between 45 and 31 days before the tour
- 100% within 30 days before the tour

Who is this tour for?
Anybody above the age of 18 with a passion to learn and master photography. There are no other eligibility criteria.
How many participants can be expected to attend?
A maximum of 4 participants with 1 instructor are expected. The Outback Experience’s USP is to provide as much individual attention and quality time to each participant as possible and thus the group strength has been kept low. We do not cater to very large groups per batch!
Where are we staying and what sort of accommodation and food can we expect?
We will be staying at a homestay near the entry gates, with single-occupancy comfortable rooms and local cuisine.
What are the requisites for the tour?
Bringing your own camera is strongly recommended. This camera should ideally be a Mirrorless or Digital SLR (DSLR) and lens with a focal length of at least 300mm to make the most out of the photography tour. In case you do not have the recommended equipment, please contact us and we will help you hire a camera or lens.
